The Breathitt Advocate opened on February 11th, 2009 on Main Street in Jackson, KY. Our very first edition was a hit and the paper has been popular ever since. We offer local unbiased factual news and also have Obituaries, Sports, Classifieds, Socials, and a look back in Breathitt County’s History in each edition. We are the ONLY 100% Locally Owned Newspaper in Breathitt County and are family owned. We have won dozens of awards in Ad Design and News Coverage and in 2011, we received the Advertising Excellence Award from the KY Press Association which means we won more awards in ad design than any other paper in our class in the state.
